New York NY Feb 2012: 38 Cinemas in 25 states across the USA have already confirmed that they will host MANHATTAN SHORT 2012 between Sept 28th to Oct 7th 2012. The Festival is expecting over 250 cinemas across 6 Continents to be involved in this year's event. 'We'll be adding at least 50 more new venues across the USA this year", said Festival Director Nicholas Mason. "Every week we are receiving requests from venues who wish to be involved in the Festival, to have over 120 shows in 25 States of the USA already confirmed for an event that is six months away, I expect record numbers of cinemas and attendances in the 2012 event,' added Mason.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Early Deadline March 1st (Reduced Entry Fee: Short films under 18 min only)
Filmmakers wishing to take part in the 2012 MANHATTAN SHORT have until March 1st to get their film entries into NYC if they want to take advantage of the Early Deadline with reduced Entry Fee. The regular deadline for MANHATTAN SHORT is July 31st . Note: MANHATTAN SHORT is for short films only and films must be 18 minutes and under in length. How It Works For those of you hearing about MANHATTAN SHORT (short for MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival) for the first time let is clue you in on what it's all about:
Each year the Festival selects 10 Short Films (from approx 400 to 500 entries filmmakers chances of gaining entry into MANHATTAN SHORT is about 40-1 to 50-1) The selected 10 Short Films become Finalists in the Annual MANHATTAN SHORT and will screen to over 100,000 people in over 250 Art House Cinemas & Museums & Universities across 6 Continents during ONE WEEK, in 2012 the dates are Sept 28th to Oct 7th. A Global Audience are the Judges: At each venue audience members are handed a Voting Card. CLICK HERE to see an example and after the last film has screened they are asked to vote for the ONE Film they think should win. Votes are tallied by cinema reps at each venue, and sent through to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ in NYC. The winner is announced at 10pm EST on Sunday Oct 7th.

MANHATTAN SHORT is designed to introduce filmmakers with their short film to their future audience. A large number of "Art House" Cinemas in the United States takes part in this event each year. These are the cinemas where these filmmakers' future feature films are likely to be shown. MANHATTAN SHORT aims to connect you the filmmaker with that audience. So, Filmmakers....you provide the films and we'll take care of the introductions.
